PRIDE

With parades and large group events cancelled across the country, the typical Pride celebrations weren’t going to cut it in 2020. But a smaller, more intimate gathering already existed within the queer community--the KIKI.

So this year, we decided to host IKEA’s very first virtual I-KIKI, hosted by Drag Race superstar Alyssa Edwards and trans actress and activist Isis King.

The Event Launch

The IG-Live event covered it all, from discussions on race, diversity and queer identity to epic lip-syncs of remixed children’s songs--and even some Swedish meatballs.

All Month Long

Pride is more than just a party, it’s a movement. So we turned our iconic bag into a symbol of support and a way to give back to the community. IKEA offered to donate 30% of each bag sold to the Ali Forney Center and LA LGBT Center, organizations that focus on helping homeless LGBTQ Youth, in an effort to make everyone feel at home, everywhere.

The RESULTS WERE INCREDIBLE.

With $0 spent in media, we got 1.25M impressions, over 200k press impressions, 475K IGTV views, and an 11% increase in LGBTQ followers on Instagram. We also raised over $85K for LGBTQ charities (and counting!)
